STOP New York Bill A10942.
ADVANCE the Philosophical Exemption Bill A5468
STOP Bill A10942.
ADVANCE the Philosophical Exemption Bill A5468.
Source: http://www.mykidsmychoice.com/

A bill, which appeared just two weeks ago, [Late May 2008] increases vaccine requirements for children and adults.

In summary:
This bill would add more shots (including flu shots!) to the vac schedule for adults and children. It boils down to the opposite of what we hope to accomplish with the Philosophical Exemption Bill.
  • The introduction of this bill is a direct pushback from the pharmaceutical lobby to weaken support for the Philosophical Exemption Bill.

  • The passing of this bill would be a major setback for a parent's rights to choose. Please act:

  • 1. Call Assembly member Richard Gottfried, Chairman of the Health Committee, at 212-807-4900 or Albany 518-455-4941. Tell him you OPPOSE A10942 and you SUPPORT A5468, the "Philosophical Exemption to Refuse Vaccines" Bill.
    2. Put it in writing: Richard Gottfried email link or A-CHAMP's letter campaign or sample letter (pdf).
    3. Ask family and friends to do the same.

    Additional action needed:

We have been STRONGLY advised by several Assembly members to visit Albany with a large group, matching t-shirts and all, before the end of the session to stop this bill in it's tracks.

  • This bill has the potential to become law by end of session, June 25.
  • The pharmaceutical companies have a very powerful lobby and they can get this done unless we make it clear that it is unacceptable.

Join Us Tuesday, June 10.
