Get US out of the WTO
Let's flood our Senators and Representatives with phone calls and faxes. As long as the U.S. remains a member of the World Trade Organization, CODEX will continue to threaten our current free access to therapeutic doses of vitamins and supplements.
~Ingri Cassel www.vaccinetruth.com

Large companies seem to want all our money. As if the USA did not have enough resident 'removers of freedom', our nation is turning over control of what we can and can not buy in the way of health care products to 'International Law'.

Some thoughts:
Sign and fax a request to pass HJR 27 to your Congressman and Representative. Get the USA out of WTO.
See stop CODEX below.
New American explanation of why grass roots effort so important to stopping CODEX and getting us out of WTO

Stop CODEX

The following is thanks to TAAP
From Cong. Ron Paul's office:

The World Trade Organization is supposed to be this great apparatus to push the world toward greater economic integration . . . In reality, it was nothing but the resurrection of an old central-planning fallacy that world trade needs a central authority to manage it. . . the WTO has ended up politicizing trade by putting the stamp of officialdom on some very bad policies.

Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr,

President and Founder, the Ludwig Von Mises Institute

Dear Colleague:

Please cosponsor and vote for H.J.Res. 27, legislation Representative Sanders and I introduced, that expresses disapproval of continued United States' membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO). While the WTO claims to promote "free trade," in fact it promotes managed trade and the further loss of American sovereignty to supranational organizations.

The WTO has the power to order Congress to change any U.S. law the WTO deems a “barrier to free trade.” If Congress does not obey the WTO, then American businesses and consumers will face trade sanctions. Congress has already changed America's tax laws in response to WTO commands. It is possible that the WTO will force America to adopt the restrictive regulations of foods and dietary supplements endorsed by the UN's CODEX commission. Radical environmental activists are also plotting to use the WTO to force America to comply with the Kyoto treaty!

Even the laws of the individual states are not beyond the WTO's reach. For example, Utah recently repealed a ban on electronic gambling for fear the WTO would find it violated “free trade.” Even the Terminator has been cowed by the WTO. Governor Schwarzenegger withdrew a plan of tax incentives to encourage new road construction because of fear the WTO would disapprove of the measure.

Some supporters of the WTO will acknowledge the problems with WTO membership, but claim that those costs are outweighed by the gains from WTO-facilitated trade. However, the government does not need to cede power over domestic laws to foreign bureaucrats at the WTO to facilitate trade. In fact, an October 2002 study by the National Bureau of Economic Research showed that membership in the WTO does not noticeably affect a country's trade pattern.

The United States Constitution gives Congress the sole authority to regulate trade. Giving this power to an unelected, supranational body like the WTO is an unconstitutional delegation of Congress's power. Please stand up for sovereignty and constitutional government by calling Norman in Representative Paul's office at 5-2831 and cosponsoring H.J.Res. 27.

Sincerely, Norman Kirk Singleton Legislative Director Congressman Ron Paul 203 Cannon Washington, DC 20515 202-225-2831

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Congress withdraws its approval, provided under section 101(a)... (Introduced in House)

HJ 27 IH 109th CONGRESS

1st Session

H. J. RES. 27

Withdrawing the approval of the United States from the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

March 2, 2005 Mr. SANDERS (for himself and Mr. PAUL) introduced the following joint resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means

JOINT RESOLUTION

Withdrawing the approval of the United States from the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Congress withdraws its approval, provided under section 101(a) of the Uruguay Round Agreements Act, of the WTO Agreement as defined in section 2(9) of that Act.

Time to Go for the WTO
by Kurt Williamsen
...
According to the agreement establishing U.S. participation in the WTO, every five years any member of Congress may introduce a privileged resolution to force the full House (or Senate) to vote up or down on whether to get the U.S. out of the WTO. Once a joint resolution to exit the WTO is introduced, the resolution must be forwarded to the floor of the sponsoring house within 90 days for a vote.

A vote on H.J. Res. 27 is expected in June. This resolution is highly privileged, and no amendments may be attached to it.

If this resolution passes in the House and Senate, President Bush is likely to veto it, meaning that a major grass-roots effort is needed to get the necessary number of votes to get us out of the WTO.

The Coming "US Health Movement v. Big Pharma" Codex War...

Opinion by Consumer Advocate Tim Bolen
Some good news from European Court, but the news is only a temporary setback for big money unless people of the world unite.

From: Sherri Tenpenny, DO of www.nmaseminars.com.

Dr. Ron Paul, a USA Congressman, has hit the nail on the head - he has focused the issue of CODEX and the harmonizing regulations of the WTO and complicit FDA (and Health Canada) with expert accuracy and precision. "The real issue is: Who decides, the individual or the state? This is the central question in almost every political issue. In free societies, individuals decide what medical treatments or health supplements are appropriate for them. " Ron Paul

In other words, in free societies, the consumer decides the marketplace by his/her choices. In dictatorships, this is turned upside-down, in that the marketplace is dictated by the Siamese-twins of Government-Corporate collusion via "regulation", and the parameters of consumer choice become non-existent. CODEX is the final step in this 100 year-old battle to remove "citizen independence" in the area of health and medicine. The first Medical Acts around 1910 already contained the statement that it is illegal for citizens "to diagnose, cure or PREVENT a disease".

Since it has become an indisputable scientific FACT that nutrition is the best PREVENTION and CURE of disease, the owners of the "sickness-industry" are determined to remove this ECONOMIC THREAT to their MONOPOLY CONTROL over the health-sickness arena by regulating these nutrients "out of the open marketplace" and under the pharmaceutical umbrella, where these nutrients become their property and they can exercise control over their availability. CODEX is nothing more than "removing of all competition". The issue is neither "safety" nor "protection". Beware, for "He who protects you completely also OWNS you completely" i.h.

The first question that should be asked is "Why is a TRADE ASSOCIATION (the WTO) determining HEALTH criteria and MEDICAL policy?" Secondly, "Why is the government practicing medicine?" Thirdly, why is the government selling its citizens to corporate control?.

As Dr. Ron Paul previously pointed out, "When we give government the power to make medical decisions for us, we, in essence, accept that the state owns our bodies." ~U.S.Representative Ron Paul, MD, [TRUE ABOUT VACCINES TOO—ST]

"Owning people" is the definition of slavery. CODEX, in essence, demands citizen-slavery to BIG PHARMA, BIG MEDICINE and BIG GOVERNMENT. CODEX policy makes it very clear that nutritional supplements may not be used to "cure or prevent disease". We are already witnessing the extension of this monopoly - namely the concept of "mandatory" medication, with non-compliance constituting a felony. (Parents are already losing their children to the State for non-compliance - called "medical negligence" over vaccination. (Read the Emergency Provisions of the PATRIOT ACT!) That says it all!

Let's call a spade a spade - and focus in on the REAL ISSUE. This is a battle for survival as a free people!

Dietary Supplements and Health Freedom Congressman Ron Paul, MD

    April 25, 2005

Millions of Americans take dietary supplements every day, and the numbers are growing as the Baby Boom generation ages. More and more Americans understandably are frustrated with our government-controlled health care system. They have concluded that vitamins, minerals, and other supplements might help them stay healthy and less dependent on the system. They use supplements because they can buy them freely at stores and research them freely on the internet, without government interference in the form of doctors, prescriptions, HMOs, and licenses. In other words, they use supplements because they are largely free to make their own choices, in stark contrast to the conventional medical system.

But we live in an era of unbridled government regulation of both our personal lives and the economy, and Food and Drug administration bureaucrats burn to regulate supplements in the same manner as prescription drugs.

The health nannies insist that many dietary supplements are untested and unproven, and therefore dangerous. But the track record for FDA-approved drugs hardly inspires confidence. In fact, far more Americans have died using approved pharmaceuticals than supplements. Not every dietary supplement performs as claimed, but neither does every FDA drug.

The FDA simply gives people a false sense of security, while crowding out private watchdog groups that might provide truly disinterested consumer information. It fosters a complacent attitude and a lack of personal responsibility among people who assume a government stamp of approval means a drug must be safe, and that they need not study a drug before taking it.

The FDA, like all federal agencies, ultimately uses its regulatory powers in political ways. Certain industries and companies are rewarded, and others are punished. No regulatory agency is immune from politics, which is why the FDA should not be trusted with power over our intimate health care decisions.

The real issue is not whether supplements really work, or whether FDA drugs really are safe. The real issue is: Who decides, the individual or the state? This is the central question in almost every political issue. In free societies, individuals decide what medical treatments or health supplements are appropriate for them.

Over the past decade the American people have made it clear they do not want the federal government to interfere with their access to dietary supplements. In 1994, Congress bowed to overwhelming public pressure and passed the Dietary Supplements and Health and Education Act, which liberalized the rules regarding the regulation of dietary supplements. Congressional offices received a record number of comments in favor of the Act, which demonstrates how strongly Americans feel about health freedom.

The FDA simply has thumbed its nose at Congress and ignored the new rules in many instances, by attempting to suppress information about health supplements. But in 1999 a federal appellate court affirmed that the American people have a First Amendment right to such information without interference from the FDA. However, members of Congress have had to intervene with the FDA on several occasions to ensure that they followed the court order.

My regular listeners already know about another looming threat to dietary supplement freedom. The Codex Alimentarius Commission, an offshoot of the United Nations, is working to "harmonize" food and supplement rules between all nations of the world. Under Codex rules, even basic vitamins and minerals will require a doctor's prescription. As Europe moves ever closer to adopting Codex standards, it becomes more likely that the World Trade Organization will attempt to force those standards on the United States. This is yet another example of how the WTO threatens American sovereignty. By cooperating with Codex, the FDA is blatantly ignoring the will of Congress and the American people.
