Q1: Our vaccinated child has 'inadequate titers', what do we do?
Our child has until now had the full series of recommended vaccinations.
Instead of giving booster shots at age 5, we have first had our child tested for blood titers.
As you can see from the following results, fully half of the titers are less than what is believed to give
immunity.
Titers Test Results: [As forwarded by a parent.] |
---|
Immune to Rubella at 104 (greater than 15 shows immunity). |
Mumps - tests show .76, less than .9 is not immune. |
Not immune to Hepb, less than 10 mill. |
Pertussis - not immune, less than 5 |
IgG required 40 for immunity, tests show child's level is 5 |
IgA required 10 for immunity, tests show child's level is at 1 |
IgM required 5 for immunity, show at 2 |
DPT, not immune |
Tetnus - immune |
Varicella - not immune |
Why are so many of the titers inadequate? What do we do now?
The answer which follows is essentially non technical,
but covers the basics for understanding
the problem.

In the meantime, think about the following:
1. THE CHILD IS TODAY IMMUNE TO ALL THE DISEASES ON YOUR LIST.
Evidence: the child does not have the clinical signs of any of the
diseases. Antibodies are NOT the key to immunity. Even mainstream
immune system theory recognizes that antibodies are a very small part of
a large and complex 'total body health'. Only the 'sales force' sticks
with antibody theory and measurements for selling vaccines. Forget
antibody measurements. (Vaccines do not succeed because the body makes
'antibodies', vaccines do not fail because the body 'cleans out' the
contamination (antigens) which are the vaccine ingredients. Vaccines FAIL
because immunity has little or nothing to do with antibodies, and
because immunity comes only from total body health not some extremely
small part of the body. [I.E. antibodies]
2. THE CHILD IS EXPOSED EVERY DAY TO MANY 'GERMS OF DISEASE', NOT
NECESSARILY TO ANY 'DISEASE CAUSING GERMS'.
Micro-organisms are not the primary cause of infectious diseases,
some even argue virus are no part of the cause, rather it is certain that
the primary cause of disease is the necessity that the chemistry of the body must be unbalanced or
polluted for 'unfriendly' virus to have an environment in which to grow.
If one keeps the chemistry of the body in balance and internally clean (detoxified),
then the body will not need to conduct an
'acute, beneficial healing episode'
commonly known as disease symptoms. If the body does need to detoxify,
the process will be safe and the outcome beneficial if the child has adequate internal
nutritional support.
3. HEALTHY CHILDREN DO NOT NEED ANYTHING BEYOND WHAT THEY
ALREADY HAVE.
UNHEALTHY CHILDREN NEED SOMETHING TO BRING THE BODY INTO
BALANCE OR ELIMINATE AN EXCESS.
That 'something needed' is frequently vitamin A or C, may be love or rest
or recreation, may be challenge or acceptance, may be patience or courage,
but no one has ever successfully proven that any child has ever benefited
from an injection of rotting matter combined with nerve and brain destroying
poisons, the actual ingredients of vaccines.
Hopefully, your family will understand that choosing not to
vaccinate is the
best approach. Remember, vaccination is an 'elective procedure'
and it is wise to thoroughly study the subject before submitting
to what is an actual superstition which lacks scientific proof. Please get
information from those who have studied both sides of the issue, taken time to
digest the information, and who are free of any Money, Power, or
Prestige motives in a conflict of interest regarding the answer.

Measurement of Titers
The use of ratios
HL7 v2.3 defined the data type "structured numeric" (SN) for various
purposes. Among those purposes was to cater the need to express ratios
that often occur as titers in laboratory medicine. A titer is
the maximal dissolution at which an analyte can still be detected.
Typical values of titers are: "1:32", "1:64", 1:128", etc. Powers of
1/2 or 1/10 are common. Sometimes titer results are written inconsistently
as ratio or only as the denominator. Nevertheless, these are rational
numbers. Although mathematically, rational numbers are exact, titers
are a result of a measurement process, that can never be exact.

Titers: What do they tell us? [Selected quotes only...]
By Christie Keith
...
A "titer" is a measurement of how much antibody to a certain virus
(or other antigen) is circulating in the blood at that moment.
Titers are usually expressed in a ratio, which is how many times they could
dilute the blood until they couldn't find antibodies anymore. So let's say
they could dilute it two times only and then they didn't find anymore,
that would be a titer of 1:2. If they could dilute it a thousand times
before they couldn't find any antibody, then that would be a titer
of 1:1000.
A titer test does not and cannot measure immunity, because immunity to
specific viruses is reliant not on antibodies, but on memory cells,
which we have no way to measure. Memory cells are what prompt the
immune system to create antibodies and dispatch them to an infection
caused by the virus it "remembers." Memory cells don't need "reminders"
in the form of re-vaccination to keep producing antibodies. [**]
(Science, 1999; "Immune system's memory does not need reminders.")
If the animal recently encountered the virus, their level of antibody might
be quite high, but that doesn't mean they are more immune than an animal
with a lower titer.
...
So what does a low or zero titer tell you? Nothing much. A high titer is
strongly correlated with either recent infection or good immunity, but the
opposite isn't true. You can use a titer test about two weeks after
vaccination to determine if the vaccination was effective in stimulating
an immune response (in other words, if the animal was successfully
immunized from the vaccine), but testing that same animal's titer years
down the road doesn't really tell you anything new.

More on Titers and animals
[Selected quotes only...]

As to titers: A zero titer doesn't mean a previously vaccinated adult dog
is no longer immune. That is because titers measure circulating antibody,
and dogs (and humans!) don't need circulating antibody to be immune to
something. Immunity comes from "memory cells," which we have no way to
measure. It is the memory cells that tell the body to form the antibodies
when a previously encountered virus re-infects the body.
[**]
(Science 1999;286:1377-1381, 1381-1383. "Immune system's memory does not
need reminders.") If the animal recently encountered the virus, their
level of antibody might be quite high, but that doesn't mean they are more
immune than an animal with a zero titer.
One of the most interesting things I have learned is that evidence is now
showing that repeating vaccinations doesn't "boost" immunity at all. All
our habits of making sure pregnant bitches are recently vaccinated so
they will have lots of immunity to pass on, worrying about "fading"
immunity in adult dogs, or whatever our concerns, are not based on
scientific reality. Re-vaccinating an already-immune animal has little
or no benefit; the previous immunity will act like maternal antibody and
inactivate the vaccine, and immunity is not "boosted" at all. So you have
all the risks of the vaccination, and no benefit. (Schultz, R.D. "Current
and Future Canine and Feline Vaccination Programs."

[**] Are any vaccinations necessary?
[**] [Immunity does not come from 'memory cells'. Although 'memory cells'
may play a small part in the very much larger processes of health. If a person is healthy,
first time natural exposure to a virus does not necessarily result in disease. In fact,
the majority of first time exposures result in no symptoms but do result in 'antibodies' which 'prove
the exposure' but also prove that immunity was present before the exposure. Total body health is
the only true immunity. The concept that immunity comes from 'memory cells' is
none-the-less valuable in that it points out that booster shots are totally
unnecessary, a definate step in the right direction toward understanding
the fallacy of vaccination. Understanding that total health equals immunity
is a basic key to understanding that vaccinations are unnecessary and
ineffective.]
